A Risky Climb

 Chapter 10: A Risky Climb

The evening air was crisp as Max cruised on her motorcycle through the dimly lit streets of Seattle. Her senses were keen, her focus sharp as she approached a towering high-rise building. Three armed guards stood sentinel at the lobby entrance, their watchful eyes scanning for any signs of intrusion. Security cameras loomed ominously, recording every movement within.

Undeterred, Max revved the engine and circled around to the building's back alley. Two more armed guards, accompanied by vigilant guard dogs, patrolled the grounds, their presence a testament to the fortress-like security measures.

Max brought her motorcycle to a halt behind a dumpster, her gaze fixed on the imposing structure before her. With determination, she whispered to her faithful machine, gently stroking its sleek frame.

"Stay here, baby. Mommy's got to do a little climbing."

Leaving her motorcycle behind, Max jogged to the corner of the building, her movements agile and fluid. With a graceful leap, she ascended to the second-floor ledge, her muscles tensing and exploding with precision-like energy bursts.

Reaching into her pocket, Max retrieved the paperwork Logan had given her, unfolding it for a second look. Her eyes scanned the contents, absorbing every detail with unwavering focus.

"Hmmm, penthouse, here I come," she murmured, her voice filled with determination as she prepared to embark on the next phase of her mission. With a steady resolve, Max began her ascent, her path illuminated by the glow of the city lights, each step bringing her closer to her elusive target.
