An Unexpected Proposition

 Chapter 9: An Unexpected Proposition

Kendra and Abraham Lynch sat at a table in an upscale restaurant, the soft glow of candlelight illuminating their faces. The ambiance was elegant, where whispered conversations and the clinking of wine glasses created a symphony of sophistication. Kendra, dressed to impress, still felt a bit out of her element, especially after the whirlwind of the day's events.

"You surprised me, showing up at the job so early," Kendra said, trying to mask her nervousness. "I thought we were having dinner much later."

Lynch, impeccably dressed and exuding confidence, smiled. "No, I'm a busy man. When I see something or someone I want, I move right in."

Before Kendra could respond, a waiter approached their table with a practiced smile. "Would you like to hear the specials?"

Lynch didn't miss a beat. "No, we'll both have the house salad and a bottle of red wine."

As the waiter disappeared, Kendra took a sip of water to compose herself. "So, you're a take-charge kinda guy, huh?"

"Absolutely," Lynch replied, leaning back in his chair with self-assurance. "In my line of work, action creates success. Besides, I don't like having sex on a full stomach."

Kendra choked on her water, her eyes wide with shock. "What?"

"Are you alright?" Lynch asked, feigning concern.

"No, I'm not," Kendra managed to say, dabbing at the water she had spilled. "What's this about sex?"

Lynch sat up straighter, his demeanor becoming more serious. "You didn't think we were gonna sit at home and watch a DVD, did you?"

Kendra's mind raced. "No, but I didn't think you were going to be so forward, either."

Lynch reached across the table and took her hand, his touch firm but gentle. "Okay, okay, perhaps that was a bit forward. But when I see what I like, I go for it. You won't hold that against me, will you?"

Despite herself, Kendra felt her resolve softening. There was something undeniably charming about Lynch, even if he was a bit too direct. "No, I won't hold it against you. But do you promise to be a good boy?"

Lynch's smile was mischievous, a glint of devilry in his eyes. "I'll make no such promise, sweetie."

They laughed together, the tension easing slightly. For the moment, Kendra decided to let herself be swept up in the evening, curious to see where Lynch's bold approach would lead.
